Spring/Summer 2021

5 minute read

Our new Spring/Summer 2021 collections reflect the different ways in which we might take pleasure in everyday life. There is a tangible sense of stillness and appreciation for things that may have previously gone unnoticed. Taking inspiration from the familiar, SS21 reminds us of the joy found in nature and human connection, in ordinary moments perhaps once taken for granted.

Looking inward, where personal and professional spaces have begun to overlap, our nine new collections offer contemporary ways to enhance different environments within the home. SS21 offers a multitude of designs to bring the outdoors in, using plants, flowers and candles to create inviting, tranquil spaces. The new culture of working from home has informed the development of new concepts, from desktop sets to planters that respond to the global awareness of biophilia and the importance of incorporating nature into the built environment. As socialising in the modern age has adapted we explore ways to create a sense of occasion, from setting the table for dinner to pouring a drink from the home bar, forging moments of connection with others or calm reflection by oneself.

Rotunda

The architectural shapes of Rotunda’s cased sapphire glass vases and lanterns lies in the collection’s use of angular walls and corrugated texture. Inspired by the iconic Warsaw Rotunda building, the collection explores the concepts of perspective, scale and repetition found in contemporary architecture.

Market

A versatile series of mouth-blown vessels which feature a woven-like textured base, reminiscent of a market basket. The different heights and widths recall the varying tubs used to display stems and bouquets at the flower market. The assortment of shapes may be used for cut flowers and foliage, as plant pots, as lanterns or as display containers for citrus fruits or pinecones.

Epoque

A celebration of Fin de Siecle glamour, Epoque comprises mouth-blown glasses for champagne and cocktails. Evocative of 1920s coupes, the curved bowls and hollow stems taper towards flat, disc-shaped feet for a vintage-inspired silhouette with a contemporary twist.

Bubble

Inspired by the shape, iridescent finish and movement of bubbles, the round, rocking tumblers and stemmed goblets with spherical bowls are hand-painted with a sheer, pearlescent lustre. The versatile glasses may be used to serve water, wine, cocktails or long drinks over ice.

Peaks

These contemporary, graphic tumblers feature a geometric illustration inspired by the staggering peaks of alpine mountain ranges. The frosted and patterned layers of decoration create a triangular motif in grey and white, channelling the contrast of snow-capped peaks and graphite rocks. Versatile, stackable shapes with modern motifs which may be used to serve water, beer, cocktails and long drinks over ice.

Gems

New to Gems this season are tealight holder sets in assorted colourways - jade, garnet and amber. Inspired by the facets of cut and polished gemstones, each glass in the set is hand painted in one of four tonal shades, enhanced by the fluted texture of the glass. The iridescent finish and pleated surface catches and reflects the light in different ways, changing with the soft glow of candlelight.

Cask

A contemporary collection of mouth-blown whisky drinkware comprising decanters, weighty tumblers and combination sets.  The cube, rectangular and oblong shapes of the decanters are individually fitted with bespoke stoppers, moulded from solid glass and ground by hand. The cylindrical tumbler has a cube-shaped impression in the heavy base, inspired by the shape of a giant ice cube, while echoing the geometric profiles of the decanters. The Connoisseur Set includes a decanter and tumblers on a rectangular tray inlaid with cork veneer, making a statement serving set for the modern bar.

Plateau

Plateau comprises versatile organisation sets for the desk, bedside table or hallway made from a combination of natural ash wood, cork veneer and mouth-blown glass. Recesses in the wood are designed to hold the mouth-blown glass accessories which vary depending on the configuration - a plant or pen pot, carafe and tumbler set or both. A narrow groove along one edge is designed to hold a pen or pencil, while the flat, cork-covered plane offers space for stationery or personal effects such as a phone, keys, notepad or paper clips. Whether used on the desk, as a docking station for keys and mail in the hall or for serving water beside the bed, Plateau is a versatile organisation solution for the modern home and workspace.

Palazzo

Hand painted tableware inspired by the grandeur of luxury hotels, Palazzo adds a decadent touch of sophistication to tea and coffee. A porcelain teapot and cups and saucers for are individually hand painted with platinum and iridescent lustres for an opulent finish.
