A heavy-based jug paired with a solid walnut coaster. Expert craftsmanship is required to mouth blow the glass and shape the spout by hand. For adding a splash of water to whisky.

Materials & making

The Islay jug is mouth blown by master glassblowers to create a weighty small jug, the rim is scissor-cut to achieve a soft thick finish. The spout is formed by using a wooden tool while the glass is still malleable. The wooden coaster is shaped from American walnut and treated with food safe oils to bring out the grain and depth of colour. The wood is sourced from sustainably-managed forests and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Care

Handwash the glass in warm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth. Clean the wood with a soft brush or damp cloth. Do not leave immersed in water or place in a dishwasher. Allow to dry naturally.
