LSA Folk Collection
The vibrantly coloured stripes of Folk are borrowed from traditional Polish costume and textile design - specifically the Łowicki fabrics of the Łowicz region in central Poland, recognisable by their exuberant colour and geometric rhythm. The collection translates that visual language into mouth-blown glass using an intricate technique. Clear glass is lowered into a pre-mould lined with coloured solid glass rods, fusing them together, and the gather is encased in another layer of clear glass before being mouth-blown into a mould. The blowing process expands the striped gather, producing an organic form with a distinctive multi-coloured pattern. The range spans a Dome & Ash Base, Bowl, Container & Ash Lid, Carafe, Tumbler, Vase and Water/Wine Glass - all sharing the same vibrant striped character and the handmade variations that come with the technique, with no two pieces alike.
