LSA Stripe Collection
Stripe brings a graphic, almost textile-like quality to mouth-blown glass. Black and white glass rods are fused into the clear glass gather and then blown into a mould, producing vases that carry a bold vertical stripe running around each piece. The effect is striking - monochrome, structural, unmistakably handmade. Each vase in the collection is made individually through a complex layering process, so no two pieces are exactly identical. The stripes vary in width, placement and alignment, reflecting the nature of working with molten glass rods that stretch and move as the piece is blown to its final shape. These variations are intrinsic to the design, giving the collection a distinctive character. A Stripe vase works particularly well as a stand-alone piece on a shelf or console, where the pattern can be appreciated in full, or paired with quieter undecorated vessels that let the striped vase carry the visual weight of an arrangement.
