LSA Ono Collection
Ono is distinguished by a remarkable craft detail: a hole-shaped handle formed by piercing the body of the vessel while the glass is still molten. Each piece begins as a mouth-blown body with a shaped upper section; while the glass is hot and workable, the maker pierces the body at a precise point to create the central hollow that becomes the handle. This is a traditional technique demanding both timing and judgement - the glass must be at exactly the right temperature, and the pierce must be made cleanly and at the right depth. The result is a jug or decanter whose handle is not attached as a separate piece but formed as an integral part of the vessel, with the material flowing continuously from body into handle and back. The hole-handle gives each Ono piece its distinctive silhouette - sculptural, direct, honest about its making. Use extends from water and juice service through wine decanting to cocktail preparation. The visual language is confident and modern, but the craft is deeply traditional.
