Aurum

Aurum is a collection of mouth-blown cylindrical vases and lanterns, each hand-painted with real gold to create a highly reflective finish that gently refracts candlelight and ambient light. The name is drawn from the Latin for gold. Stepped cylindrical forms are accented with hand-painted gold bands, then fired at high temperature to set the metallic finish into the glass.

Named for the Latin word for gold, Aurum is inspired by the warm, reflective quality of candlelight caught in precious metal. Stepped cylindrical forms and gentle curves are accentuated with hand-painted gold accents that animate the surface as light moves across it.

Each piece is mouth-blown by skilled glassblowers. Rims are cut and polished by hand to achieve a smooth, flat edge. The glass is then hand-painted with precious gold paint and fired at high temperature to fix the metallic detail permanently.

Crafted from clear glass with real gold paint applied as a finishing material. The fired finish refracts candlelight and catches ambient light in shifting reflections - gold becoming part of the glass surface rather than sitting on top of it.
