Each piece in Gems carries a clean contemporary form and a fluted surface texture, hand-painted with iridescent lustres that evoke the visual quality of faceted precious stones. Tonal palettes drawn from polished gemstones - sapphire blues, garnet reds, jade greens and warm ambers - give the range its signature character. The iridescent lustres are applied by hand in assorted tonal sheers and fired at high temperature, setting the colour into the glass so it catches and refracts light across the fluted surface. The range is broad, including a Stand & Dome, Tealight Holder, Champagne Flute, Champagne/Cocktail Glass, Tumbler, Vase, Vase/Lantern and Wine Glass - each piece carrying the same jewel-tone character. The cased glass is layered with coloured glass during gathering, and the fluted surface catches and refracts light across the finished piece.
