Beacon

Beacon is a collection of mixed-material candleholders with a modular design - conical mouth-blown glass forms with a pleated texture, housing a removable steel candleholder at the base. Used together, the glass and steel form a candleholder. Used separately, the textured glass vessel holds flowers, dried stems or simply stands alone as a sculptural object.

Inspired by the simple forms of beacons and lanterns, reimagined in glass with a tactile pleated texture. The modular construction allows the piece to function as a candle holder or as a vase - flexibility designed into the form itself.

The glass base is mouth-blown into a specially designed metal mould to create the pleated texture. Rims are cut and polished for a clean finish. The steel plate is cut, pressed into shape and powder-coated for a durable surface.

Crafted from clear glass and powder-coated steel. The pleated texture is formed in the glass during blowing; the steel component is a precisely cut plate finished with a durable, powder-coated surface that pairs cleanly with the warmth of glass.
