LSA Tier Collection
A trio of mouth-blown glass vases and lanterns built on a clear geometric principle - a series of stacked, interlocking shapes that create a sculptural silhouette. The forms lend themselves equally well as vases holding simple stems and as standalone decorative objects when empty. The design reference is post-modern building design, where structures frequently use stacked geometric volumes - a cylinder set on a cube, a stepped tower rising from a base. Tier translates that language into glass, blowing each piece into a metal mould that produces clean precise transitions between each tier of the form. The rim is cut and polished flat, giving the top of each piece a crisp, modern edge. The collection includes vases and lantern-vase hybrid pieces in different heights, allowing them to work singly or in grouped arrangements. A single Tier vase on a console table can hold its own as a sculptural object; two or three pieces grouped together create a still-life that works in modernist or contemporary interiors.
