LSA Zinc Collection
Zinc is a collection of hand-painted glass vases and candle holders finished with a lustrous metallic glaze that evokes the weathered, slightly iridescent surface of natural zinc. The lustre is applied by hand and fired at high temperature to fix it permanently, and the pieces themselves carry a gently pleated texture in the underlying glass that catches light and deepens the metallic effect. The collection includes a set of four rounded tealight holders, a vase-lantern that works for both flowers and candles, and a larger vase - giving flexibility across decorative uses from a subtle candlelight accent to a substantial vase for stems. Each piece is mouth-blown in Europe by skilled glassmakers and hand-decorated with the zinc-effect lustre in a specialist painting workshop. Because both the mouth-blowing and the hand-painting are done by skilled craftspeople, small variations occur across pieces - giving the collection part of its character. Zinc suits interiors where a soft metallic accent is welcome without the hard, bright shine of polished silver or chrome.
