Details

A tall, thick stem and disc-shaped foot elevate this large glass cakestand. Expert craftsmanship is required to shape the broad plate and scissor cut the rim by hand. A serveware centrepiece for extravagant cakes, large tarts and piles of giant meringues.

Mouth blown by master glassblowers and scissor-cut by master craftsmen to create this large centrepiece. The thick stem and disc-shaped foot are applied by hand. Scissor-cutting is the most skilled of finishing techniques. The top edge of the glass is reheated until it is semi-molten and then the worker will cut away the excess glass around the rim, leaving a thick, rounded, soft looking finish to the glass.

Handwash in warm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.
